Situated on a shady street just off Paseo Colon, San Jose's main thoroughfare, Hotel Grano de Oro is a true oasis, a sanctuary in the heart of the city. Converted from a Tropical Victorian mansion, the 40-room hotel maintains the warmth and comfort of a private home


Hallways lined with period photographs and original art meander through the building and present lush tropical flower arrangements and luxurious plants at every turn. Spanish tile fountains grace intimate atriums, ensuring that one is never far from the soothing melody of falling water. The entire Hotel is non-smoking.




RESTAURANT:

Restaurant Grano de Oro merges Costa Rican tropical with European cuisine under the expertise of our French chef Francis Canal. Once a simple cafe, this restaurant has evolved into one of San Jose's finest dining establishments, frequented by locals and tourists alike.


Specialty cocktails, classically presented dishes and delicious desserts are served in the charming ambiance of a magnificent period home with an elegant inner courtyard. The bilingual wait staff provides professional and friendly service. Service is offered throughout the day from 6 am to 10 pm. Restaurant, patio and bar are non-smoking

    • This category offers cozy quarters with one queen sized bed.

  • VISTA DE ORO SUITE


    • Reached by a private staircase, the Vista de Oro lives up to its name commanding a breathtaking view of the Central Valley skyline. Tiles, individually handmade in hues of ochre and sienna cover the walls and are complemented by rich wood panelling. The suite's living area is stylishly furnished with exquisite antiques and a luxurious king size bed. A large in-room Jacuzzi is the ideal vantage point from which to savour a glass of champagne and watch the lights of the city twinkle below.

  • GARDEN SUITE

    Originally the homes living room, now a spacious suite with a king size bed and large windows opening onto a private tropical garden and patio. The Victorian feeling of the wood paneling and hardwood floor truly takes you back in time.

  • FAMILY SUITE


    • This two room suite comfortably accommodates up to five people. The main room has a queen and a twin bed and a small seating area. The adjoining room has a second queen bed. Each room has its own access to the bathroom.
